Manali Leh

A Royal Enfield motorcycle tour from the plains through Manali to the high mountains. We explore the hidden world of the Ladakh plateau a high altitude desert on the Manali Leh Highway riding a Royal Enfield Bullet.

First a Welcome to India Dinner and a chance to chat amongst fellow riders and start the Tour Briefing. The next day we transfer to Chandigarh by Fast Train. In Chandigarh (one of India's most modern cities) you take charge of your Royal Enfield Bullet.

This motorcycle tour is about fantastic roads, snaking endlessly up high mountains - The Silk Road on a Royal Enfield Bullet, destination Leh.

As you ride you join the ‘three mile high club’, we'll cruise to 18,500 feet, riding Royal Enfield Bullets over the world's highest motorable road to Nubra.

After resting in Manali we kick-off for Leh, riding over 1900kms across the world's highest roads and passes to a Himalayan Shangri La and on a Royal Enfield, India's most famous motorcycle.

We commune with Khampa Nomads on the Ladakh Plateau amidst their ancient pastures and ride on to discover the peaceful lanes and shady orchards in the ancient silk road capital of Leh.

Administration Stuff

Singles - Singles can opt for a single room for Single Accommodation Supplement for an additional fee of £225. But generally we put singles of the same gender together sharing.

Pre – Post Tour - Arrangements can be made for additional days before and after the planned Tour dates including escorted transfer to the scheduled Tour hotel. Additional transfer and hotel room fees will be charged pro-rata.

Accommodation - We stay in hotels, guest houses and en-suite tents.

Reality Check

Climate / Toughness Rating - This is a physically demanding Road Tour with some long riding days, requiring a degree of mental and physical stamina.

Domestic transfers are as comfortable as possible, though delays can be experienced at Leh Airport due to it’s altitude and prevailing weather conditions.

Warm daytime sun, evenings cool to chilly, snow is possible, generally no rain after the Rhotang pass.
