We enjoy social gatherings on our Tours and you may well be riding with people from around the world. You don’t have to drink beer, but a cold drink or a cup of tea and snacks after a long day’s ride is the norm.
Open minds, adaptability, flexibility and sociability are Rider traits that go to make a successful Tour.
Caring for your fellow Rider is something we expect from all Riders as you would yourself.
In order to satisfy Indian Law and comply with our Terms and Conditions you are required to bring the following documents with you when you come on Tour.
Passport
Indian and/or Nepal Visa
Travel Insurance
Health Screening Card
International Driving Permit
Motorcycle Licence
Be sure to arrange these in good time for your Tour departure.
Riding in the Himalaya always requires a range of clothing.
The passes are sometimes very cold. Crossing Khardung La for example you will need a warm jacket. Evenings in the mountains are cold, we advise you bring a warm pullover or body-warmer.
South India calls for lightweight, cool clothing, with a thin pullover or fleece for chilly evenings. Riding during the day can get very hot, so protective or armoured clothing should be lightweight and well ventilated. Bring swimwear and a lightweight towel.
Sometimes the road conditions are as tough as off-road riding.
Royal Enfield motorcycles are heavy (dry weight 160kg), these Tours are for the experienced rider.
In the mountains the distance we ride each day is sometimes governed by the altitude of passes en-route, typically a short day might be 100kms a long day could be 300kms.
Plan to arrive at the latest on the scheduled Tour Start Date. An additional day at the start and end of a Tour is always advisable if possible (particularly if flying to Leh, 3,500m, a day at the least is advised for acclimatisation).
Riders planning to arrive a day or so early can let us know arrival and departure dates, through the Rider Pages. Knowing your arrival and departure times helps us arrange airport Pick-Ups.
To Enter and Travel in India you require a ‘single entry Indian Tourist Visa’. These are valid for 6 months and are obtained from The Indian High Commission in London or Indian Embassies in your country.
Your travel Agent can obtain the visa for you usually within one working week.
You must hold a full Passport and it must have at least 6 months validity remaining.
We ask that you ensure your travel insurance is sufficient for your personal needs.
Check your insurance policy covers such needs as hospitalisation or repatriation.
The Tour Leader will ensure the best possible evac/services are provided – given our location and the services available locally.
As part of the booking process we ask Riders to provide additional and/or alternative Emergency Contacts. Riders can deposit Additional Global Emergency Service Contact Details.
