The Kumari Rath

The Kumari Rath (or chariot) is pulled by large crowds of people for festivals where the Kumari Goddess attends. The Kumari Goddess sits inside the chariot wearing the costume and jewellry of her predecessors. There are many festivals in the Kathmandu Valley where such chariots are used to transport priests to Temples, some as high as 30m.
