Sanko Bazar 6kms

Sanko market was bustling with shoppers and casual onlookers, our heavily laden bikes adding to their interest as we passed through this the last big market town south to Padum. During the Pakistani incursion in the Kargil and Dras areas during the ’99 war, may locals from Kargil evacuated to towns and villages up the Saru valley.
