A ride we enjoyed earlier in 2007, riding down the Dhulikel Sindhuli Highway from Kathmandu. There had been a strike or banda and the road was virtually empty. Our intention had been to explore a different hilly route, but the lure of an open highway was too much for us, we rode south to Nepalthok. The road has been under construction since the early 1970s and but for a short section is all but complete. We discovered that the last stretch would be only a further 35kms. Look at the scenery and you'll understand the immensity of the task that lies ahead to finish the highway's construction.
