05 Ride the highways and byways of any Himalayan state and you'll come across some of the biggest and most spectacular engineering projects anywhere in the world. Whilst exploring solo, my routes sometimes pass by these marvellous constructions, often in remote locations. These photos were taken on a solo ride in August 2004 - east to west across Uttaranchal and onwards. According to my map, the route would take me through a town called Tehri with my planned night stop at Chamba, some 15 kms past Tehri. I knew nothing of the Dam project.
