Jiri Ride And Chill Itinerary
Day Itinerary Detail
Day 1

We meet at your hotel brief you about the motorcycles and kick-off early for edge of the valley and the start of the Arniko Highway. It's a challenging first day's ride and after the busy roads in the valley we can begin to enjoy the rolling hills that take us further east. We are heading for The Last Resort, home of the world’s highest Bungy Jump. We spend the night in cool tented terraces, a mile above the Bhote Khosi.

Day 2 First we'll ride up to the border and peer across the Friendship Bridge towards Tibet. The road is broken in places so we’ll ride with care. But it’s back down the valley today to find the bridge that takes us east. We’ll be heading into steep hills, endless zig-zags, hairpins to die for! Next stop Jiri – by sundown if we make good time.
Day 3

This is ‘The Chill’. We’ll stay and rest, we’ve had two days of quite hard riding, working the gears, watching the road like a hawk, quick on the brakes! It’s a day to browse the market, walk up the hillside into the pastures above the town.

There’s a cheese factory too, it’s about half way up. Take a little tour, flatter the cheesemen and taste their cheese.

Day 4

The next day we head back towards Kathmandu, but we stay on the valley-edge in a peaceful resort, hidden from the world. We'll have a party, after all the place is beautiful!

Day 5 Our last day is a gentle ride across the south of the valley. Winding our way back through old Newari Villages in the south of the Valley, lunch and back to your Kathmandu hotel.

Overview

Jiri Ride And Chill Overview

This is a 4 night 5 day Road Tour and 3 hour Trek into the hills east of Kathmandu. Departing Kathmandu - we’ll meet at your hotel, we ride to the Tibetan Border and rest in the peaceful terraced gardens at The Last Resort.

An early start gets us onto the road to Jiri. Built by Swiss engineers over 30 years ago the road climbs steeply over three passes before Charikot and through steep sided pine forests before emerging in the hidden valley of Jiri - home to an old Swiss built cheese factory.

In Jiri we take a short trek (or not) up the valley to another Swiss enterprise "The Cheese Factory", where at 2,633m. Yak milk is processed into butter and cheese. We picnic in beautiful alpine meadows and back down for afternoon tea.

The next day we head back towards Kathmandu but stay on the valley-edge in Dhulikhel. Our last day winds back through old Newari Villages in the south of the Valley, lunch and back to your Kathmandu hotel.
